The Wildlife Photographer’s Grand Safari is designed for enthusiasts who want a complete Sri Lankan wildlife photography experience. Over ten days, participants explore Wilpattu, Sigiriya, Minneriya, Yala, and Udawalawe, focusing on big cats, elephants, nocturnal species, and birdlife.

The tour begins at Wilpattu National Park, Sri Lanka’s largest and most pristine wilderness, where photographers have the chance to capture leopards, sloth bears, crocodiles, and endemic birds. Morning and evening safaris are tailored to the best light conditions, and optional photography hides offer close-up shots without disturbing the animals.

Next, the journey heads to Sigiriya and Minneriya, combining iconic landscape shots with the elephant gatherings at Minneriya National Park. These majestic animals congregate near water sources, offering dramatic photographic opportunities, especially during golden-hour light. Sunrise sessions from Pidurangala Rock provide a stunning backdrop of Sigiriya’s rock fortress.

The safari then transitions south to Yala National Park, famous for the world’s highest density of leopards. Wilpattu Safaris
Begin your journey with a transfer from Colombo to Wilpattu National Park, one of Sri Lanka’s largest and most untouched wilderness areas. Spend two full days exploring the park with early morning and late afternoon game drives, which maximize wildlife sightings. Focus on elusive leopards, sloth bears, elephants, and a variety of endemic and migratory birds. Optional photography hides near waterholes allow for intimate, close-up shots without disturbing the animals.
