Why Visit Ella?

Little Adam's Peak | Sri Lanka | NexRoaming

Ella boasts some of the most beautiful sights, which make it a must-visit destination in Sri Lanka. Little Adam’s Peak offers a rather simple hike, and one would get to the top in approximately 30-45 minutes, from where one could obtain panoramic views of mountains and valleys. For more adventurous hikers, Ella Rock provides a rewarding 2–3 hour climb with a panoramic bird’s-eye view of Ella and beyond.

Another iconic landmark is the Nine Arches Bridge, a colonial-era railway bridge shrouded in dense cover, and a great spot for photography and train watching. Just a short drive from Ella, Ravana Falls is a beautiful waterfall ideal for a cool swim or a quick scenic break. For the thrill-seeker looking to experience more waterfalls, Diyaluma Falls, Sri Lanka’s second-highest waterfall, offers the chance to swim in natural rock pools amidst breathtaking views.

To crown the Ella experience, a tour to Halpewatte Tea Factory or some of the nearby tea estates provides tourists with an opportunity to learn more about Sri Lanka’s world-famous Ceylon tea while sipping a freshly brewed cup amidst lovely scenery. The best time to visit Ella is between December and March, when the weather is cooler and perfect for outdoor activities. June to August is also very nice with minimal crowd.
