Why Visit Aberdeen Falls?
Aberdeen Falls is near the famous Laxapana Falls in the area of Ginigathhena. It is easily accessible via a short but slightly challenging hike (around 1 km) from the nearest parking area, with steep steps leading to the waterfall. The ideal time for visiting is during the period from November to April, when the water flow is strong and the weather is pleasant.
The beautiful cascade falls into a deep natural pool, which is shaded by dense forest and rock outcroppings, and the setting is breathtaking. Photography enthusiasts will have plenty of chances to capture stunning photos of the waterfall and the misty landscapes around it. Swimming is not recommended in spite of the tempting water due to the presence of strong currents and deep areas.
